Alan D. Blanchard, Ph.D., has been an editor, reporter, copy editor and photojournalist, as well as a weekly newspaper owner. He's served as a director of marketing/PR/media relations. He is a journalism professor, in the middle of his 18th year of teaching, mentoring and advising tomorrow's multimedia journalism professionals. His columns here represent his personal opinions and thoughts alone. He and his wife have been married for 42 years and have been blessed with two wonderful sons, two daughters-in-law and three grandchildren.
